The idea was conceived when Tim Dawe ,the founder of the company, discovered the need for a high performance wheel that was virtually indestructible in extreme skating situations. Using the experience gained from 10 years of making skateboard wheels,a wheel was built that took veteran skater,Tom Fry,to the 1994 N.I.S.S. World Championships, where he placed second in both ramp and street events, then to the ramps at the extreme games in 1995,where Tom's natural abilities showed the wheel's true performance levels to the world, when he won the event. These first wheels were called Flywheels. Not only was the dual durometer construction unique, but the shape was revolutionary back then, and has become the base "standard" for all "aggressive" inline skate wheels to this day. The shape evolved directly from skateboarding, the wheel was in fact, a narrow skateboard wheel configuration and the profiles and construction relate directly to the owner's skateboarding experience and skateboard wheel making knowledge. The COZMO wheel revolutionised the way wheels and skates were made for the inline ramp and street skater and is still the world's fastest and only dual durometer skate wheel. Feel the difference. |
